7 Things You Should Know Before Your Breast Surgery

When it comes to suspense, there’s a time for it. Be it on a movie’s cliffhanger or a surprise ending, but not when it concerns your health. Most people head into breast surgery without knowing what to expect except firm and pleasing breasts. Matthew J. Lynch MD, offers the best breast augmentation services and advises how a patient should be prepared and what they should know. Below we have compiled the seven things you should know before committing to breast surgery.

1. There Are Multiple Types of Implants

When you head into a cosmetic surgery clinic, your surgeon will recommend which types of implants to choose from. The main two types are silicone shells filled with saline water, and others use medical-grade gel that makes the implants more natural.

Depending on your budget, you can choose whichever type since breast surgery isn’t covered by typical medical insurance. Saline implants are better since they make leak detection easier.

2. Breast Surgery Isn’t A One Time Thing

Breast surgery usually has a high acceptance rate, ranging from 84% to 98%. But revision is always on the table when the breasts don’t meet your evolving needs. Also, leakages may happen, which necessitates reviews. You may need reviews if you are satisfied with your breast implants once every ten years.

3. You Have to Be Healthy to Get Implants

A necessity for getting implants is good health. If you are obese, have a smoking habit, or your family has a breast cancer history, then you may not be the perfect candidate for breast augmentation. Have a candid discussion with the doctor about your medical history and lifestyle before committing to a boob job.

4. Bigger Is Not Always Better

While some cosmetic surgeons argue that bigger implants are better, MD Lynch says it is not always the case. Breast augmentation aims to create normal-sized breasts that make you look your best. Oversized breasts show ridges which make them seem fake. Always choose the right size implants based on your body and bust size.

5. Not All Surgeons Are Certified

Cosmetic surgeons are not plastic surgeons. Plastic surgeons have passed the exam and practiced; therefore, they are suitable for breast surgery. The surgeon of your choice should be certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons if you want the best results. Check the surgeon’s accreditation to avoid low-quality implants.

6. Recovery May Take A While

You may be tempted to take out your boobies for a spin. But they just don’t feel and look right. Recovery periods vary significantly depending on the implant type, lifestyle, procedure, and more. In 6 months, time, you can begin flaunting the two ladies. But before that, don’t bend, strain, and restrict your motion to that of A T-Rex’s hands.

7. You Will Look Better

The primary purpose of breast augmentation is to feel and look good. With the right implants, you will feel more like yourself. Just don’t flaunt your boobies to people who can’t afford them.

Outlook

MD Lynch combines top-tier expertise with patient-centered approaches to breast surgery. Breast surgery reconstruction and augmentation improve your aesthetic appearance and help with cancer detection and prevention.
